Course Description


This course will cover MSAT Satellite Communications. There is a brief history of MSAT, which includes satellites and the businesses that have been involved. It also covers the services associated with the MSAT network (Telephone and PTT). You will learn how to use the network and the hardware associated with it. The course includes use of the Mitsubishi and the G2 hardware. It covers Vehicle install, Transportable/Go-Kits, and Fixed Site/Base Station applications.

About the Instructor

Burton Forsman

Mr. Forsman has a BS in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Florida State University. He began his career in the communications industry in 1992. Started installing land mobile radios (LMR) in vehicles, continued with LMR and Paging through the years, which lead into satellite communications. His professional career with MSAT began in 1998. Throughout his career, he has worked with countless Federal, State, County, Municipal agencies, and NGOs, along with Critical Infrastructure organizations, primarily Utilities and Health Care.In those 20+ years, He has:     Trained users on MSAT and other satellite communications platforms     Provided technical support     Performed repairs on equipment     Designed and manufactured go-kits     Installed MSAT equipment in vehicles     Installed MSAT equipment in buildings     Along with a myriad of other project ite
